We’re running out of football weeks here, but I’m gonna do a rundown of this weeks games and see how I do.
Denver Broncos vs. Baltimore Ravens
The Broncos are giving 10 points here and are the heavy favorites. Peyton is back to his old self and Black (Demaryius Thomas) and Decker (Eric Decker) are putting up big numbers as reliable wide receivers. A lot of people think Ray Lewis’ swansong was last week at home in Baltimore, but I don’t think he’s done just yet. Flacco is not looking as good as he was early in the season, but if they can keep feeding Ray Rice I think they’ll be in good shape. The pick: Ravens
Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers
Aaron Rodgers is the new “IT” quarterback ever since Peyton sat out 2011. Colin Kaepernick took over for Alex Smith halfway through the season and never looked back. His mobility gives him a certain “X” factor. I’ll take the Packers here. Rodgers has the experience and I think after a poor showing last year, I think Rodgers is ready to make a run and solidify his status as a “Great Quarterback”. The pick: Packers
Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Seahawks are the hottest team in the NFL. They put some pretty big numbers up the last few weeks of the season ahd took down RG3 and Alfred Morris last week; nothing to shy at despite RG3’s injury. Matt Ryan started the season out as hot as any quarterback in the league, but has tapered off towards the end of the season. The Seahawks are my pick to win the Super Bowl, so I’m taking thme in this one. The pick: Seahawks
Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots
Tom Brady is one hell of a quarterback. No question. I think he’ll win this game, but the Texans should put up a fight. Despite the Texans limping into the playoffs and missing a bye, they took down Cincinnati last week and actually thought Cincy was a strong squad and was going to win that game. I think Foster’s the second best back in the game and could go big here, but I think Tom Terrific will pull it out (never pull out). The pick: Patriots
Are pickin straight up or with the point spread?
Straight. No spreads included. Next football season I’ll do a whole betting rundown. I am working on getting my own account once I get some scratch together.
